BIOGRAPHY page 4
It took some time for Korvac to recover from the Red Skull's anti-matter attack. As his body reformed, he cast off the Machine God elements to become again the energy-based being he evolved into as Michael. As his recuperation ended, Korvac was surprised to sense his wife Carina had resurrected as well. Carina had been re-corporealized in the Infinite Avengers Mansion when an attempt to resurrect the dispersed Janet van Dyne inadvertently targeted her instead. Korvac immediately transported to the extra-dimensional habitat to claim his wife, but Carina wanted nothing more to do with him. When Korvac refused to take "No" for an answer, the Avengers rallied to Carina's side and opposed him.
Michael fought his way through many of Earth's most powerful heroes, but Carina had a back-up plan. She wove a temporal spell that allowed the students of Avengers Academy to access their adult forms at the pinnacle of their powers and experience. The upgraded Avengers Academy class surprised Korvac, and caused him to pause before striking back as he considered the ramifications of harming their anachronistic forms and causing a paradox. In his anger, however, Michael dismissed any concern over damaging the timestream and figured his cosmic power could undo the harm if he wished. The tide turned, and Michael promised to restore the students after he killed them, removing their free will so they would be at peace by his side. With their augmented powers, however, Veil molecularly interfaced with Korvac to temporarily inhabit and restrain his body while Hazmat generated anti-matter of her own. She annihilated Michael's body once more, scattering his essence throughout the multiversal space. [Avengers Academy #11-12]
In his next incarnation, Korvac reformed in his cyborg body while retaining his cosmic might, rewinding his physical timeline to the earliest point where he received Galactus' powers, but before assuming his "Michael" configuration. Believing this would prevent him from making the same mistakes as his previous incarnations, Korvac returned to the 21st century and situated himself in Forest Hills Gardens once more. To establish multiversal order, Korvac began picking apart the pieces of reality, creating temporal and temporary chaos before reassembling them in a more orderly fashion under his guidance.
Korvac's machinations affected the Guardians of the Galaxy in the 31st century, causing their memories and membership to fluctuate through temporal shifts. Starhawk remained cosmically aware enough to recognize changes were occurring, and led the Guardians to recruit an Earth girl named Geena Drake. Geena was a singularity, aware of the changes in time around her yet unaffected by them. Guided by Geena's instincts, the Guardians pinpointed the origin of the temporal anomaly and traveled back in time to address the instability in the timestream. When Geena Drake confronted Korvac in Forest Hills Gardens, however, Michael revealed that he intended for the Guardians to bring her to him. Everything he had accomplished up until them had been preliminary machinations. Geena, as a singularity, would act as a stable reference point around which Korvac could fully restructure reality to suit his whims. While Korvac was distracted with Geena, however, Yondu of the Guardians shot him through the head with an arrow.
As the Guardians gathered around Korvac, time continued to fluctuate around them. Korvac survived Yondu's attack, but informed the Guardians that the breakdown of reality occurring was not his doing. The Incursions, a side effect of the conflict between the Beyonders and Rabum Alal, were responsible for the failure of local reality. Faced with this existential threat, Geena Drake offered to let Korvac do what he intended, rebuilding reality around her as a reference point to contradict the Incursion. His efforts seemed to fail, however, and everything died. The end. [Guardians 3000 #8]
