Brief Description:

The X-Men attack the Inhumans on Iceland. During the battle, Magik’s consciousness is suddenly drawn into her Soulsword, where Sapna’s consciousness survives. Sapna doesn’t blame her for killing her but wants Magik to stay with her. Illyana pleads with her and points out that her body is currently in danger, as Crystal is attacking her. Sapna lets her out for a bit, to deal with the crisis. Magik warns Colossus that, should something strange happen to her, he is to contact Dr. Strange. A moment later, she is drawn back into the sword. She finally gets Sapna to agree to a compromise. She casts a spell to make sure she can interact with Sapna’s soul outside of the sword, though nobody else can see her. The spell is cast, Illyana is released and returns to the battle.

Full Summary:

Iceland:
The X-Men are attacking the Inhumans. Magik is at the front, swinging her Soulsword. Suddenly, she hears a voice calling her, coming from within her sword. She recognizes the voice of Sapna, who asks for her help.

A moment later, Illyana finds herself drawn to a dark place. Where are they? she demands. Inside her Sword, Sapna tells her. Magik insists that she can’t be here. They are fighting the Inhumans. Sapna tells her not to worry - her body is still outside. She’ll be okay.

Incredulous, Magik points out she is in the middle of a battle - she could be killed! Sapna promises she won’t be hurt. Time moves slower in here. They have time.

Illyana urges that the X-Men need her. The young girl replies that she needs her too. She is alone in here.

Illyana apologizes but she had no choice. The World Eater… Sapna interrupts, noting she isn’t mad. If Illyana hadn’t acted, Sapna would have destroyed X-Haven and killed everybody. And besides, when the World Eater was possessing her, it was so terrible! This place is lonely, but it’s much better than that. But it’s all going to be okay, now Illyana is with her. She is not alone anymore. Illyana points out, she can’t stay here. Even if time moves slower, she has to return to the battle.

The girl stubbornly replies she doesn’t want her to ever leave. Enraged, she asks why she gets to go and Sapna has to stay there, dead and alone. Illyana replies she did the best she could. She understands Sapna is angry and hurt, but she won’t keep her against her will. Sapna’s eyes and hands glow as she shouts Illyana doesn’t get to make the rules anymore.

Illyana tries to cam her but Sapna screams and lashes out. Illyana orders her to stop. Sapna apologizes but she won’t let her go.

Suddenly, there is a quake. Sapna isn’t doing this. Illyana points to the image of the battle. The Inhuman Crystal is attacking her. The battle may move slowly, but it still moves. She has to go back to her body or Crystal may kill her, Illyana pleads.

Sapna bursts out, then Illyana could stay with her. Shocked, Illyana replies that she can’t want that. That isn’t the persons she is. She offers Sapna let her go back to deal with this and later she will return to help her and they’ll figure this out together.

Sapna hesitates. They are hit by another shockwave. Illyana urges her and Sapna relents, but just a minute, she warns her.

Illyana finds herself back in her body being attacked by Crystal, who is trying to tell her something. Unimpressed, Magik hits her with her sword.

Inferno attacks her in retaliation for trapping the Royal Family in Limbo. Logan tackles him, after Colossus throws him in a fastball special. Colossus suggests she focus while they both fight. Illyana tells him that, if they make it out of this and there is something wrong with her, he should contact Dr. Strange. Instead of explaining, she tells him she loves him. As she feels her soul being dragged away, she tells him to remember Dr. Strange. She is in the sword!

Sapna figures it will be okay now; Colossus will protect Magik’s body. And she can take care of Sapna in here. Ilyana kneels down and tells her she wants to take care of her. She wishes she could travel back in time, prevent Sapna getting M-pox and going to X-Haven where the Worldeater found her and she eventually had to kill her. Why doesn’t she then? the little girl asks. Because she is just a person like her, not a god, Illyana replies, and some things are meant to be. They found each other for a reason and this is not the end. It feels like the end, Sapna admits. Everything is scary and she is alone. Illyana tells her she is not alone. They have each other. Sapna points out that she says that, but Illyana will leave her again, and she will be alone here.

Illyana has an idea. It’s not a perfect solution but, once they have settled things with the Inhumans, maybe she can find a way to save her. She asks Sapna to trust her. Sapna takes her hand. Illyana warns her if this works, she will probably be the only one who can see or talk to Sapna. She’s all she needs, Sapna replies. Illyana tells her to hold on.

Illyana awakes in her body and shouts for Sapna. She can see and hear the little girl in ghost form. Happy, Magik rejoins the battle.
