ALTERNATE VERSIONS
In the House of M reality, David Alleyne was the top student at the New Mutants Leadership Institute. He and his friends were being trained to act as diplomats and leaders for the next generation of mutant-driven world activity. David was also secretly still dating Noriko Ashida, who dropped out of the Institute to join S.H.I.E.L.D.’s junior field agents, the Hellions. Their worlds
collided when the Hellions were sent to Japan to hunt a human terrorist cell led by Nori’s father. Noriko recruited David and some of his Institute friends to help her capture her father peacefully. Instead, they discovered the off-the-books Project: Genesis supported by the ruling House of M, forcibly mutating flatscans to try and make new mutants. David, Nori and the collected New Mutants and Hellions ended up sacrificing their lives fighting against this project.
The Not-Patriot was a curious entity who acted as an antagonist for the Young Avengers around the time Prodigy joined them. It appeared in the costume of Eli Bradley, but the costume itself was supernaturally empty. David later theorized the Patriot was from the future where Billy became the Demiurge, echoing backwards in time to ensure that event actually happened. He also theorized that one of the team, likely him, sacrificed themselves to become a conceptual being of pure information as the not-Patriot. The entity refused to answer David directly about his reasoning.
