When the editors refused to let her bring a friend back to life, Gwenpool decided nothing really mattered since her actions had no lasting consequences. Believing she had been created to be a super-villain rather than a super-hero, Gwenpool leaned into her role and launched an epic crossover, revealing the heroes' secret identities and darkest secrets to turn them against one another. She eventually provoked three adversaries into traveling back in time to prevent her rise in the first place.
