COSTUME GALLERY
1) As Echo, Maya wore a simple outfit, usually consisting of black pants and a short midriff-bearing shirt. Often her shirt had a white sun symbol over her heart, made of tiny triangles in a circle pointing outwards. She kept tight wrappings around her hands and arms and sometimes wore bird feathers on the ends. On her face she pressed a handprint of white paint, an echo of the bloody mark her father left on her as he died. [Daredevil (2nd series) #11]
2) The Ronin costume was a ninja outfit that fully concealed Maya’s identity and gender. It was mostly black but with areas of muted green, golden trim, and waist sash. Green glowing eyepieces represented the night vision lenses Maya used to see in the dark. [New Avengers (1st series) #11]
-) After being defeated by Elektra and the Hand, Maya gave the Ronin identity over to Clint Barton and returned to operating as Echo. [New Avengers (1st series) #32]
3) As the Phoenix, Echo’s traditional costume remained largely the same, only accented by Phoenix symbolism. Her arm and leg wrappings had a touch of Phoenix gold to them. She wore a Phoenix belt and the cut of her top evoked the Phoenix symbol. Her sun symbol was now on a golden band circling her neck. Maya tended to express the Phoenix Force as wings, a set of tonfas at her waist and as birds of cosmic fire that flew with her as familiars. [Avengers (7th series) #41]
