Minn-Erva and Atlas, however, had faked their deaths. They relocated to a peaceful and seemingly uninhabited planet with the intention to procreate. When their paradise was accidentally defiled by the Silver Surfer, both Minn-Erva and Atlas put on the performance of a lifetime, claiming that they simply wanted to be left alone. Atlas even feigned that he was suicidal and wanted Surfer to grant him an honorable death for his involvement with the Supreme Intelligence and the fall of the empire. Silver Surfer felt pity for the couple and flew off, leaving them to the planet. When he left, it appeared that Atlas’ performance was not entirely phony. He carried great animosity towards Minn-Erva for what happened. It was only the promise of securing the future for the Kree through their union that kept them tethered. It was hardly surprising that solitude came to an end and Minn-Erva and Atlas found themselves back on Earth again. They had been exposed to Pym Particles during their brief imprisonment by the Avengers. Due to actions of some of the alien race called Cosmonians manipulating the body of Eric Josten, those who had been previously been exposed to the particles found them own bodies altering in size. Tricked into believing Pym responsible for their misfortune, Minn-Erva and Atlas attacked Hank Pym's friend Bill Foster on Earth. It backfired and they managed to shrink themselves down inadvertently and fled. During this particular adventure, Minn-Erva and Atlas bickered incessantly, hinting that perhaps her involvement in the Supreme Intelligence's plan became insurmountable for their relationship to survive in the end. It was some time before Minn-Erva next resurfaced, appearing soon after the Inhuman king Black Bolt had released the Terrigen Mists across the globe. The mists caused humans with trace Inhuman DNA to grow an outer cocoon and mutate. As a scientist, Minn-Erva saw this as an opportunity to create Kree super-soldiers and even further mutated herself using grafted Inhuman DNA. She fell into conflict with Spider-Man and the new Ms. Marvel (Kamala Khan) in Manhattan while attempting to retrieve a cocoon. Given her status as a fugitive and without Atlas, she had no choice but to hire human assistants. This raised some eyebrows from the two heroes, who threatened to contact the Kree authorities. With fear of recrimination from her own people, Minn-Erva fled. [Amazing Spider-Man (3rd series) #7-8]
Minn-Erva continued to operate on Earth as a fugitive from the now dominant segment of Kree society. She even managed to kill a Kree spy that was pursuing her. Her intention was to fuse the mutagenic potential of humans with Kree DNA. She targeted the small town of North Fork, California for a test. It was to a degree a failure, as none of the subjects survived and the DNA did not integrate. Still, it gave her the opportunity to battle with the new Captain Marvel, Carol Danvers, and her Alpha Flight squad. As the team was preoccupied in a doomed attempt to save the townspeople, Minn-Erva managed to escape while she plotted her next move. [Captain Marvel (9th series) #7]
In her next scheme, Minn-Erva leased a building in South Boston under a company named Owl Robotics. She planned to release a new variant of virus she deployed in North Fork. The company name was a nod the Roman goddess of war and wisdom, also named “Minerva,” who was associated strongly with the owl. This vanity on Minn-Erva's part allowed Captain Marvel to pinpoint her location; as she already had the general area thanks to a vision from the Inhuman seer, Ulysses. Minn-Erva was no pushover and had further experimented on herself but, as Captain Marvel could plan her assault in advance and thanks to Ulysses’ vision, she had backup in the form of the Ultimates and Alpha Flight. Minn-Erva was apprehended and due to be extradited by her people the Kree to be tried for her role in the Kree genocide. [Captain Marvel (9th series) #8]
Nonetheless, the doctor seemingly escaped from the Kree and relocated to the sewers of New York City. She continued her research, this time taking willing participants, offering to attempt to grant them superpowers by grafting Kree DNA to them. Unfortunately, they were all failures, save one. Ripley Ryan was a young journalist who volunteered. Minn-Erva was able to graft Kree DNA to Ripley but, for some reason, she had not gained superpowers. Minn-Erva came up with a new tactic and released genetically engineered Krakens to attack New York City. The Kraken carried a power-siphoning device and it took hold in Captain Marvel during the assault. It was slow working and, over time, Carol became weaker while Ripley became more powerful assuming the identity of a new “superheroine,” Star. Meanwhile, Minn-Erva discovered that Captain Marvel was actually half Kree herself. Seeing her now as one of the most popular superheroes in the galaxy, Minn-Erva thought her too important an ally not to have. Minn-Erva set out to destroy Carol's image on Earth so she could be more malleable to manipulation. Minn-Erva had Carol's Kree status leaked and her allegiances questioned.
Minn-Erva thought that, once Carol's character had been thoroughly assassinated, she would ally with her in uniting the remaining Kree factions. She even reached out to Carol at her home and, while it did not result in an out and out brawl this time, Minn-Erva could not remove Carol’s loyalty to her true home world. Worse, Star had become unstable and jealous of Minn-Erva's attempt to befriend Carol. She bludgeoned her half to death and strung her up in her lab. It was only the timely arrival of Captain Marvel that saved her life. Minn-Erva's current whereabouts are unknown. [Captain Marvel (11th series) #5, 8-10]
