The Legion of the Unliving are a collection of Avengers foes brought back to life by supernatural or cosmic forces as undead foes.
Kang used Immortus's equipment to assemble the first Legion, including the original Human Torch, Heinrich Zemo, Wonder Man, the Monster of Frankenstein, Midnight, and the Flying Dutchman's Ghost.
The Grandmaster seized the Realm of the Dead for Legion II, pitting the Avengers against shades of Swordsman, Captain Mar-VelL, Executioner, Green Goblin, Bucky, Death Adder, Red Guardian, Baron Blood, Dracula, Black Knight, Hyperion, Nighthawk, Terrax, Drax the Destroyer, and Michael Korvac.
Immortus directly conjured the third Legion from timeless limbo (although they may have been Space Phantoms in disguise). They included Swordsman, Black Knight, Toro, Iron Man 2020, Grim Reaper, Left & Right-Winger, and Oort the Living Comet (a curious choice, who only fought the Avengers for the first time in the future).
As an undead sorcerer, the Grim Reaper summoned the fourth Legion from fallen Avengers foes, including Count Nefaria, Red Guardian, Black Knight, Heinrich Zemo, Inferno, Nebulon, Star Stalker, Amenhotep, and Necrodamus.
The fifth Legion was called forth by Grim Reaper as twisted incarnations of fallen Avengers, made up of Captain Mar-Vell, Swordsman, Hellcat, Doctor Druid, Mockingbird, Thunderstrike, and Wonder Man.
Finally, Moon Knight faced his own personal Legion of the Unliving in the Egyptian realm of the dead, made up of past foes like Taurus, Plasma, Master Sniper, Chainsaw, Midnight, Black Spectre, and his brother Randall Spector, the Jackal Knight.
