At the initiative of Dum Dum Dugan, S.H.I.E.L.D. created a new Howling Commandos of monsters and agents connected to the supernatural. Zombies, werewolves, vampires, mummies, and many other creatures of the night fought together in defense of humanity. Several versions of these Howlers have emerged over the years, sometimes recruited while other times pressed into service by S.H.I.E.L.D.'s more controlling directors.
