Howling Commandos (Soldiers)

The Howling Commandos was the nickname for a squad of soldiers during World War II under the command of Sgt. Nick Fury. Highly decorated and effective, the Howlers fought beside Captain America on many missions, including the first contact with Wakanda and the invasion of Normandy.

Due to the Infinity Formula and other elements, many of the Howling Commandos remained vital enough to join S.H.I.E.L.D. and continue fighting decades after the war ended. They have recognized several new members in the years since the squad officially disbanded, such as Steve Rogers, Jasper Sitwell, Clay Quartermain, and John Garrett.
