In a reality similar to that of the Days of Future Past timeline, the Avengers Unity Division did not defeat the Shredded Man on their initial encounter with him. This led to the deaths of all of humanity, with the exception of some Inhumans through famine, war, disease and climate change. It was during this time that Synapse started to agree with her grandfather's outlook and, eventually, took up the mantle of the Shredded Man herself. She was later defeated by her past self, who travelled to the future in an attempt to find Cable and was shocked to discover what she had become. [Uncanny Avengers (3rd series) #23]
