ALTERNATE VERSIONS
Although we rarely include cartoon or movie versions in the alternates page, Solarr was a curious example who appeared in the original X-Men: The Animated Series. Renamed “Bill Braddock,”
Solarr was in control of the mutant community of Skull Mesa when the X-Men interfered with his little kingdom. In X-Men ’92: House of XCII, the events of the Age of Krakoa were interpreted for the animated series continuity. Here, Solarr was one of the Swordbearers who accompanied Apocalypse to Polemachus (instead of Otherworld). Those who died on Polemachus came back different when the Five resurrected them, including Solarr, Beast and Silver Samurai. The resurrected Beast was now akin to Dark Beast, and he added Solarr to his “Dark Riders” when they moved against Krakoa’s leaders, the Inner Circle.
Another version of Solarr existed on the “Heroes Reborn” Earth created by Franklin Richards. He became a member of the Thunderbolts alongside Makeshift, Phantom Eagle and Chain Lightning, mercenaries who served Baron Zemo and his son, Iron Cross. They operated overseas as the heroes of Germany to restore order to Europe after the devastation afflicting that Earth when the notable heroes returned to Earth-616.
